Welcome to Fire and Rescue NSW Band and Marching Team homepage.

There has been a change of name of our organisation from NSW Fire Brigades to better reflect the service that we provide to the community. It will now be called “Fire & Rescue NSW” and as such, our group will be called the “Fire & Rescue NSW Band and Marching Team”. We are in the process of updating our documentation etc, but in the meantime we will respond to both the old and new titles.

The Band and Marching Team is based in Sydney, Australia. Mark Reay has been the Musical Director for the past 26 years and continues to ensure the standard of music and entertainment remains at a very high level.

The members are part-time volunteers who see the function of the group as an integral part of the Fire and Rescue NSW’s mission to provide public education on fire prevention and safety awareness to the community and to promote the Brigades as a world class organization.

The members raise their own funds through sponsorship to promote international tours. In September 2002, the band and the precision drill marching team were invited to China for the 30th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between our two countries. In 2008, the group attended the Blasmusikfestival in Bruck-an-der-Mur in Austria.

The Band and Marching Team has just returned from participating in the Zurich Police Music Festival in September 2010.

The Fire and Rescue NSW Marching Team competed in the 2010 State and National Championships earlier this year.

At the State championships, they placed 1^st in all five disciplines - Set Drill, Precision Drill, Exhibition March, Artistic Freestyle and Prop Precision.

At the National Championships held in Queensland, they placed 1^st in three of the five disciplines - Exhibition March, Artistic Freestyle

and Prop Precision, and 2^nd in the Set Drill and Precision Drill.

Congratulations to our Champion Precision Drill Marching Team on their outstanding success in 2010.

NAME CHANGE
